When Food Poisoning Becomes Fatal

food-poisoning

Many people get food poisoning throughout their lives at one point or another. It can be one of the worst feelings in the world, sickness-wise, as those who experience it are normally down for the count for a few days. That all being said, it is important to know when food poisoning becomes fatal. There are clear signs when your food poisoning could be threatening your life.

High Fever

If you have been experiencing food poisoning for a number of days now, and all of a sudden have a fever of over 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit, there is a good chance you should seek medical attention immediately.

Loss of Vision and/or Hearing

If you have been experiencing other food poisoning symptoms for the past few days, and have recently started to lose your ability to see and hear correctly, there is a good chance you have a severe form of food poisoning. At this point, you should immediately contact a doctor or emergency services.

Blood in Your Urine

Again, assuming you have had food poisoning for the past few days, and you suddenly start to experience blood in your urine, this is a common sign of fatal food poisoning. This is a sign that you should go seek medical help immediately.

All of these symptoms normally come a few days after the common symptoms, such as a mild fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or nausea. If these mild symptoms persist, and then you get any of these fatal symptoms on top of them, you should immediately seek medical attention.

After making sure you are okay and healthy, you should make it an effort to contact an experienced personal injury attorney to see what they can do for you. At Rudnick Law, we will fight to recover the full amount of compensation for your illness from whoever served you the food that led to your food poisoning.
