A Manchester motorcycle crash has caused two people to be seriously injured. They were thrown from the motorcycle when it crashed into a car and sent their motorcycle under another. Here, it became wedged under the vehicle following the impact.
According to the Manchester police, the couple was driving west on Route 571 when their gray 2015 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle made impact with a Nissan Sentra. The Sentra, at the time, was making a left turn onto Route 70 east.
When the vehicles collided, the couple was thrown and their motorcycle slid into and under a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. The couple, a man, 23; and a woman, 30; both sustained injuries from the crash. The man’s arms and legs were injured, so he was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to police. The woman injured her head, neck, and back and was flown to Jersey Shore.
When police arrived at the accident, they found the couple in the road, lying there. The Nissan sustained front-end damage from the accident, but both the driver of the Nissan and the Hyundai were not injured in the crash.
The couple was later found to be in serious, but stable condition the evening of the crash.
The crash was assisted by the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, according to reports. There was also medical personnel from Quality Medical Transport and MONOC.
The crash is still being investigated.
